About me

Life-Lens sprang out of my passions for photography and for family life.

I have two daughters -six and three years, and seeing them grow up so fast made me realise that I wanted to record all the precious moments we have with them. Taking photos was one way. But hearing all their giggles and laughs and attempts at words that were so evocative made me want to capture the sounds as well.

What developed was a production of sounds and photos was like actually being in the room! And because it was in a digital form, it meant I could easily share it with family and friends, some of whom were living in other countries, almost as if they too were in the room.

I thought how wonderful it would be to make these poignant reminders of family life available to other parents. I knew, having worked as a teacher in nursery and reception, teaching three to five year olds, that I had a good rapport with children. And having had my photos published in magazines and books, and won various photographic competitions, I knew that I had the talent. My previous work as a web master helped me develop the IT side of Life-Lens. And so Life-Lens was born.

I have been on the steering committee for our local children’s centre, have worked on our parish council, and meet regularly with our NCT friends of two years now. I am DBS checked, (formerly known as a CRB check.) As well as the Life-Lens project I also have taught photography to adults and young people and would be happy to discuss documentary or artistic commissions.
