Our friends

Aisulu

When we had got off the plane in Kigali, Rwanda we spent the night in a hotel and both Rosie and I made friends with a little girl who was a little younger than me and she was from Peterborough. We played Dobble with her and she won. We both helped her a little bit as it was her first time.

When I first got to our little house I didn't have any friends but on the next day I made friends with lots of children. And for the first few days I played with them quite a lot and their favourite game was Ring-a-Ring-Rosies. We also played with the frisbee and a football. It was lots of fun. I hope that I can make more friends in the future.

About a week after we arrived we went to see a chicken project about a disease called HIV and we stroked a chicken but we didn't hold it because they were too lively. The people who run the project started it because eggs are really healthy food. To make sure they keep having chickens they keep a cockerel and when the eggs hatch they use solar panels to keep the chicks warm when there is no mother to look after them.

People made long speeches that I didn't understand and I had to use an umbrella to keep the sun off me. It certainly is hotter than it is in England, but sometimes it does rain very heavily like I am standing under a waterfall.

Rosie
We made a friend in Rwanda who was called Sarah, and in Uganda we have made about 7 friends. We play with our friends outside, Ring-a-Ring-a-Rosies and we have some grown up friends, about 3.

We had some yummy, yummy ginger beer at a chicken farm, a little one of course. We got to look at some chickens, listened to some dancing and singing and music and I liked all of it. I danced a bit with the ladies and Daddy of course. And there was a person who we see every day who is called Aunty Doreen.

I miss my friends from our Stadhampton home and would love them to write me a message. I am desperate to hear what you are doing. And to Ladybirds and Mrs Stafford, I'm sorry that I am not in your class but I will see you in the bigger class when I get back.
